Chance meeting with Neil in
Bournemouth.
There was I taking in the sea air, and
the atmosphere of the great Bournemouth Bay run, when who did I run into, but
Neil, there to support his wife. A great day it was too and he told when I
asked after the band how they had been practicing fairly heavily recently and
were looking forward to the forthcoming gigs. Neil's wife, Ann, made fairly
good progress managing the 13 miles in a respectable time, and looks forward to
the London marathon. E-mail if you want to sponsor for her good cause...Helping
disabled children get fun out of sport.
Neil told me that he had also run into
old mate of his Carl Sams...yes him of Bulldog Network that great focus of local
martial arts and all round fitness for all (in fact if you are interested in
this area of life's activity be sure to check out his website and get all the info on Carl's great Gym and the shows he
puts on together with info on some of the country's greatest martial arts
geezers and geezeresses). Apparently Carl (previously renowned as
'Crunchy Plectrum') had been very instrumental in Neils early learning of the
guitar and they played together briefly in the band 'The Haunted'. Carl had
played in a Croyden based band called The Crypt prior to meeting an early curly
haired freckle faced Neil.
Neil looked very pleased to have seen
his old mate again who didn't look quite as old as Neil does...Neil is
consulting with him now on his use of anti-aging products......
Anyway here is a pic I took of Neil with
one of the band's minders......oh and Frank Bruno as well...Nice one
